San German

San German provides a glimps into the past through it's variety of historic architecture. There are many buildings throughout the city, several of which are restored, including what is considered by many to be the oldest church in the western hemisphere, the Capilla de Porta Coeli (Heavens Gate Chapel). Built in 1606, the building now functions as a museum of religious art, displaying painted wooden statuary by Latin American and Spanish artists.
